About the wine – 2000 Vintage

The 2000 Shiraz Apricot Block, 360 cases delivered from tiny yields of .9 tons of fruit every acre of land (8-year old vines), tips the scales at 14.5% liquor, and was matured in both new and old vast American barrels (called hogsheads) before being packaged unfiltered. An applicant for "wine of the vintage" in the Barossa, it retains ruby/purple shading and additionally marvellous fruit force, huge body, awesome clarity, and a skyscraper-like mid-palate and surface. This thick, chewy Barossa excellent has a texture that endures more than 60 seconds. Although still to some degree essential, it uncovers colossal potential, even from this testing vintage.
