Scott Conley's view on Sorrenberg Chardonnay....   Don't buy it.. so I can keep more for myself....

As Australian Chardonnay's go, this is up there in my top 5 at the moment....  I like to call it 'Old Man Chardy' Oaky, buttery, citrus its a well balanced vino, that punches well above its price point... I only have 2 cases of this so buy it quickly before its sold out (or I drink it).

I sell Sorrenberg Gamay and Cabernet Franc, but not the Sav Blanc, however even though I don't sell it I can say its worth buying a bottle if you can find it as it breaks the mold of the the traditional Sauvignon Blanc... worth a crack!

The wineries summary

Sorrenberg Chardonnay is 100% barrel fermented in french oak with 25-30% of this being new oak. To add complexity to the wine all of it goes through natural yeast fermentation, as well all of it goes through complete malo-lactic fermentation. This wine received extended lees contact for ten months with weekly stirring. Then a further eight months barrel maturation. The longer time in barrel restricts this wines openness for a few months so be patient. Minimal handling and filtration ensures maximum flavour is retained.

The bouquet of the 2017 Chardonnay displays aromas of citrus with some peach overtones. This follows on to the pallet to reveal an extensive and complex finish. The noteworthy oak compliments the refreshing, integrated acid creating a balanced, multi dimensional wine.

This wine will cellar for 10 years plus.
