75% Sauvignon blanc, 11% Semillon, 14% Muscadelle

Slightly higher percentages of Sauvignon blanc and Muscadelle than what is considered typical of this blend. This was due in part to the lack of Semillon produced (largely a result of the hailstorm), but also the inclusion of some Sauvignon blanc and Muscadelle from our new plantings of 2008, that we deemed strong enough for inclusion this year. The nose, albeit quite subtle at present shows honeysuckle, lime, lychee and lemon sorbet. Pristine flavours shine through on the palate with the slightest hint of lees-derived characters adding some secondary complexity. The palate is pinned together by soft phenolics, while the finish is drawn out with firm acidity. Beautiful drinking now but expect the mid palate to build fruit sweetness and richness with time in bottle.
